This notice explains how Best Kitchen UK uses information when you visit bestkitchenuk.co.uk or contact us. Best Kitchen UK is the name used by the operator of this website. For privacy questions or requests, email info@bestkitchenuk.co.uk.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name you provide, your message and any attachments. We use them to answer your enquiry, investigate corrections and keep a record of the correspondence. Please send only the information needed for your enquiry.
Where comments are enabled, WordPress can collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, optional website and comment, together with an IP address and browser information used for moderation and security. An approved comment and its display name may become public; your email address is not displayed as part of the comment.
Website analytics and technical information
We use locally hosted WP Statistics and a self-hosted Umami service at analytics.bestaitoolsguide.com to understand website use. These tools record information such as pages visited, referring websites, visit times, approximate location and browser or device categories. The hosting server also processes connection information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the website.
WP Statistics is configured to anonymise and hash IP addresses and not to store the full browser user-agent string. Umami’s standard analytics does not use tracking cookies. These settings reduce the information retained; they do not mean that every server request or message you send is anonymous.
We also record interactions with outbound links. These events include the source page, destination address, link text, product or placement where available, and affiliate network or tag. They help us understand which guides and links are useful. A click event does not tell us that you completed an order.
Cookies and retailer links
If you choose the option to remember your details when commenting, WordPress can store those details in your browser. WordPress also uses cookies for authorised users who sign in. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser; doing so may affect remembered details or sign-in functionality.
Affiliate retailers and networks operate under their own privacy notices when you follow their links. They may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute purchases. We do not receive your payment-card details from an affiliate purchase. See our affiliate disclaimer. Google AdSense advertising is currently disabled on this website.
Why we use information and who can access it
We use information to run and secure the website, understand readership, moderate contributions and respond to enquiries. For personal information needed for these purposes, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating the publication and communicating with readers, subject to your rights. If a particular use requires consent, legitimate interests do not replace that requirement. We may also retain information where needed to meet a legal obligation.
Information can be accessed by the people administering the site and the hosting, email and technical service providers needed to operate it. It may also be disclosed where required by law. Third-party websites you choose to visit have separate data-handling arrangements; check their notices, including any information about processing outside the UK.
How long information is kept
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is reasonably needed to answer and follow up the enquiry or maintain a necessary business record. Published comments may remain with the article unless removed. Analytics records do not currently have a single verified automatic deletion period across both tools. Contact us if you need more information about a particular record or want to request deletion.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to request access to your personal information, correction or deletion, restriction of use, and to object to processing. Data portability and withdrawal of consent may also apply where the relevant conditions are met. These rights are not absolute; we may need information to locate a record and confirm that a request comes from the right person.
Contact info@bestkitchenuk.co.uk to make a request. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator.
We may update this notice when the site’s operation changes. The date above identifies the current version. For other enquiries, visit our Contact page.
