Ninja Crispi vs Drawer Air Fryer UK: Which Suits You?

Choose a Ninja Crispi for the glass-container workflow; choose a drawer air fryer when one larger cooking space and adjustable settings matter more. That is the useful starting point for this comparison of the original UK Crispi FN101UKSG and Ninja Air Fryer MAX PRO AF180UK. Neither design is automatically better for every meal.

Which Crispi and which drawer air fryer?

Here, “Crispi” means the FN101UK 4-in-1, using the sage-colour FN101UKSG listing as the reference. The drawer example is the AF180UK 6.2L MAX PRO; Ninja’s current black UK listing identifies SKU AF180UKBRN. Crispi Pro, Crispi DualZone, the Crispi Microwave MW101UK and bundles with extra containers need their own specification checks.

Model and capacity sources: Ninja’s FN101UKSG listing and AF180UK listing. Capacities describe containers; they do not establish identical usable floor area or portions.

Capacity: plan the meal, not the largest number

The two Crispi containers are alternatives for its cooking pod. Adding their capacities together would give a misleading impression of the space available for one cooking cycle. An extra container may help preparation or storage, but it does not create a second independently heated zone.

Write down a typical meal: perhaps a main plus vegetables, or a small portion prepared separately from everyone else’s dinner. Decide what must cook together and what can wait. If dinner routinely needs two different settings at once, see our comparison of two-drawer family air fryers.

For a wide item, check its actual fit rather than assuming a litre rating answers the question. Ask for usable internal measurements, including any loss of space around the crisper plate. A second batch is a meaningful inconvenience if it delays the meal you bought the appliance to simplify.

Controls: check how your recipes will transfer

The FN101UK manual lists Air Fry, Recrisp, Roast and Keep Warm, with mode and time buttons. The original Crispi does not offer a user-selected cooking temperature. That distinction matters when your favourite recipe specifies a particular temperature: start with guidance for this model instead of assuming you can reproduce another air fryer’s settings.

The AF180UK manual describes temperature adjustment for most programmes, with Max Crisp as the exception. That provides another setting to work with; it does not prove more accurate temperatures or better food. For cakes and bread, our air-fryer baking guide also covers tin fit and headroom.

Glass, hot parts and the cleaning routine

Glass makes the container’s contents visible, but that is a handling preference, not evidence of superior cooking. Picture the complete routine: lifting the pod, turning food, serving and finding space for everything while it cools. A drawer creates a different lifting task; consider which you would find comfortable with your usual portion inside.

Ninja’s FN101UK instructions require 15cm clearance above and on all sides. They also warn against sudden temperature changes and against using chipped, cracked or severely scratched glass. The glass needs to cool gradually before washing; the electrical pod must never be immersed or put in a dishwasher. These are practical limits to include in your decision. Our glass cookware guide explains why identifying the specific product matters.

The Crispi glass containers, adaptor and crisper plates are dishwasher-safe; lids belong on the top rack. The AF180UK manual permits dishwasher cleaning for its drawer and crisper plate. Check whether those parts fit alongside your normal dishes: “dishwasher-safe” does not tell you how much space will remain.

If the storage-container aspect appeals, read our glass-container buying checklist. It helps you consider the body, lid, lifting task and storage space separately. Follow the Crispi’s own instructions for each component rather than transferring permissions from another glass dish.

If you plan to line the container or cover food, our air-fryer tin-foil guide explains the manufacturer checks to make. Permission for one model does not automatically transfer to a portable glass-container system or a different drawer.

Worktop space: measure the whole task

Allow room to lift a pod or pull out a drawer, then put the hot part down in a suitable place. Mark that working area on the counter before ordering. Also identify where the spare container and lids will live; a smaller cooking unit does not automatically mean fewer things to store.

We found inconsistent dimension fields in the published product information, so we have not declared a footprint winner. If clearance under a cupboard or fit on a narrow worktop decides the purchase, ask the seller for the assembled dimensions of the exact configuration, then add the manual’s ventilation allowance.

Which should you shortlist?

Consider the Crispi if its container routine suits you

It makes sense to investigate when you value seeing the food and switching container sizes. Before buying, confirm the box contents, replacement-container options and whether you are comfortable handling the separate pieces. Buy the version whose controls match your plans.

Consider the AF180UK if a single larger drawer suits you

It belongs on the shortlist when your regular meal needs one compartment and you want temperature controls. Confirm food or tin fit first, then compare the delivered price, seller and return terms. There is no permanent cheapest option established here.
